No ads, ever. Your first four uploads are free so you can confirm it works with your exact Frame before you pay. From there you choose: buy the app once and it is yours to keep, or take Frame Photos Monthly, which includes the app and Frame Cloud while active. A subscription is never required to keep using an app you bought.

Yes. Buying the app is a one-time purchase, and so is iCloud Sync if you add it. Neither of them expires or stops working. One Apple purchase covers iPhone, iPad, and Mac; Android purchases will use Google Play once the listing is live. Cross-store access is planned through the same signed-in identity, but we will only promise it after that flow has been verified in both stores. Frame Photos Monthly is offered alongside the one-time route, and iCloud Sync is Apple-only.

For free you can find your Frame on WiFi, connect to it, browse photos already on the TV, run a compatibility check, use the full matte editor, and send your first four uploads, all before deciding to unlock the rest.

No. Frame Photos Monthly includes the whole app plus Frame Cloud storage, so $2.99/mo is all you pay. The one-time route and the monthly route are two complete alternatives: you never buy both.

No. If you are the only one managing photos and you always do it from the same device, Frame Photos on its own is everything you need. Sync exists to carry your albums between devices and between people; with one person and one device there is nothing to carry, so there is nothing extra to buy.

Two things. It lets you manage the same albums from several Apple devices: organise on your iPad, continue on your iPhone, finish on your Mac. And it lets other people in your household manage those albums too. It does that through your own iCloud account, so your photos stay with Apple instead of with us. It costs $14.99 once, on top of the app, which comes to $24.98 in total.

Yes. Your albums are synced through your own iCloud account, so they take up space in your Apple storage plan. How much is impossible for us to predict: it depends entirely on how many photos you sync and at what resolution. The honest way to find out is to look: check Settings, your name, iCloud on your iPhone to see what you have left, and check again after your first few albums. If you are on the free 5 GB plan it can fill up; topping up your Apple storage is usually still cheaper than a subscription. And if you would rather not use your own storage at all, take Frame Photos Monthly instead.

Frame Cloud is storage we run ourselves. We built it for households where someone uses Android, because an Android phone has no free iCloud to sync on. Running that storage costs us money every single month, so charging once for it would not be honest. It is included in Frame Photos Monthly at $2.99/mo, and you can cancel anytime. It never touches your own iCloud space.

Frame Photos Monthly. As soon as one person managing the photos is on Android, syncing through somebody's iCloud is not possible, so the storage has to be ours. The subscription includes the full app and Frame Cloud, and works across Apple and Android at the same time.

Yes. Choose Frame Photos Monthly. You then sync through Frame Cloud on our storage and your own iCloud stays free for your photos and backups. It is the one case where all-Apple households deliberately pick the subscription.

On the one-time route, only one of you buys iCloud Sync: it runs on that person's iCloud and the others simply join, so they only need the app itself. On Frame Photos Monthly it works differently: everyone who manages photos pays $2.99/mo, because each person is using storage we host and pay for every month. For a household of two or three people, that is worth putting side by side before you choose.

Yes, and that is the normal way round. Buy Frame Photos for $9.99, use it, and add iCloud Sync the day a second device or a second person shows up. You never pay twice for the app, and switching between the one-time route and the monthly route later is fine too.

That depends on which route you are on, and the difference is worth knowing before you choose. iCloud Sync never stops: you paid once, so it keeps working. Frame Cloud does stop, because it is our storage. It goes read-only for 30 days, is then suspended, and its contents are deleted 90 days after that, so there is plenty of time to act or come back. Every device that was using it keeps its own copy, and whatever is on your Frame stays on your Frame. It is only the shared copy in our cloud that goes.
